I am SUN, Kun (孙坤), currently an Assistant Professor (Principal Investigator) in
Institute of Cancer Research, Shenzhen Bay Laboratory.

I received my B.Sci. degree in Department of Electronic Engeneering from
University of Science and Technology of China (USTC)
in July 2010. Then I came to CUHK and obtained my Ph.D. degree in July 2014 specializing in
Computational Biology and Bioinformatics under the supervision of
Prof. Hao Sun (孙昊)
and Prof. Huating Wang (王华婷).
Later on, I received my post-doc training under the supervision of
Prof. Y.M. Dennis Lo (卢煜明)
and Prof. Rossa W.K. Chiu (赵慧君).
My research fields include (but not limit to) computational biology and translational medicine.
I mainly work on biological/biomedical projects (especially noninvasive prenatal testing and cancer liquid biopsy
through plasma DNA analysis) based on the massive parallel sequencing technology.
I am interested in the following research fields:
- Computational Biology/Bioinformatics
- Genomics and Transcriptomics
- Data mining and visualization
- Noninvasive prenatal/cancer testing using plasma DNA
- Long noncoding RNA identification and functional investigation
